Those of us who are Baby Boomers and older have been dealing with many of these transitions for quite some time.
Others who are younger may experience these transitions at critical milestone events in life such as divorce, attainment of long sought goals, the last child leaving home, or death of a loved one.
Often, as in female or male menopause, psychological and behavioral transitions must be made to accommodate physical changes. But how to do so is often confusing.
Changes in the health status of ourselves or our loved ones also cause us to re-examine styles of behavior that have become unquestioned routines
The struggle to reframe one's sense of self in the world can be extremely challenging, but with therapeutic guidance, the process can become personally enriching and satisfying. Together we can work on enhancing your skills of self-empowerment and mastery to facing illness, loss, aging, and crisis.
